We are an organization which informs and promotes the profession on the eastern shores of San Francisco Bay. We serve primarily Structural Engineers in the counties of Alameda, Contra Costa, and Solano, but all who are interested in structural engineering are welcome.

Our lunch meetings feature presentations by various experts on structural materials, inspections, projects, and design procedures. Work opportunites are often presented, and one or two field trips are planned each year for our members.

Membership: $25/yr Officers must be registered Civil Engineers in California, but professional registration is not required for membership. Member lunch: $15 . . . . . . . Non-member lunch: $20
We appreciate those who make lunch reservations by noon of the Monday preceding the meeting.

We meet on the 4th Wednesday of each month except in July and August and with occasional date adjustments in November and December to avoid holiday conflicts. Come early if you want to chat with your peers and be assured of your first choice from the 3-item menu.

Our meeting sites alternate between The Buttercup Kitchen, 229 Broadway in downtown Oakland and The Buttercup Restaurant, 660 Ygnacio Valley Road in downtown Walnut Creek. The Oakland site is about 3 blocks from the waterfront.

Those coming from Oakland to the Walnut Creek site can take Hwy 24 to Hwy 680 North, then exit East on Ygnacio Valley Road about 1/2 mile from Hwy 24. The restaurant is on the North side of the street about 5 blocks from Hwy 680.

There is ample free parking at each site. Our meetings start at 11:40am, and we try to begin eating by noon. We usually adjourn no later than 1:30pm. Click on the highlighted link below to check the site of the current meeting.
